The table below compares the limits and features across all three tiers.

  • The Free plan needs no credit card and works well for testing with a single connected subscription.
  • Pro drops the 50-request daily cap and turns on image generation.
  • Scale is built for managing lots of accounts, giving you 25 connected subscriptions, 50 API keys, and 32 concurrent requests.

What counts as a subscription

Each connected account counts as one subscription slot on your plan, so connecting 3 separate Claude accounts uses 3 subscriptions, and a single p2a_ API key can route requests across all of them regardless of the provider.

When you connect more than one account from the same provider, a request that runs into a usage limit automatically fails over to your next account before any output is sent.

Which plan fits which use

  • Free fits quick tests of Plan2API or a small personal script running on one subscription that stays under 50 requests a day.
  • Pro is meant for daily work in coding tools and apps, letting you connect up to 3 subscriptions (like Claude, ChatGPT, and Google AI at the same time) and run image generation.
  • Scale fits teams or anyone pooling a large batch of accounts, with room for 25 subscriptions, 50 API keys, and 90 days of logs.
  • Agents and apps that run all day need Pro or Scale, since Free stops at 50 chat requests a day and allows 1 request per second and 4 at once.

What you still pay your AI provider

Plan2API never bills per token, and you just keep paying your AI provider for your existing subscription, such as Claude Pro at $20 a month in the US, ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month, Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month, or Kimi Plus at $19 a month ($15 a month billed yearly). Claude Pro plus Plan2API Pro comes to $32 a month in total.

Plan2API doesn't add any token quota of its own, which means your subscription's normal usage limits still apply. If all of your connected accounts for a provider run out of quota, the API returns HTTP 429 with the error code subscription_quota_exhausted and a Retry-After header showing the earliest reset in seconds. On Free, the 51st chat request of the day returns HTTP 429 with code daily_requests until the reset at 00:00 UTC.

The curl example below passes -i to print the response headers, including x-plan2api-requests-remaining.

curl
curl -i https://api.plan2api.com/v1/chat/completions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PLAN2API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "claude/claude-sonnet-5",
    "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "ping"}]
  }'

Image generation on Pro and Scale

  • The POST /v1/images/generations and POST /v1/images/edits endpoints are available on Pro and Scale only, while calling them on Free returns HTTP 403 with type plan_limit.
  • Image renders run through your connected ChatGPT (Codex) subscription using the gpt-image-2 model.
  • You can set n from 1 to 4, output comes back as PNG in b64_json format only, and edit requests accept up to 5 source images.
  • A render takes around 15 to 45 seconds and up to about 110 seconds at high quality, so make sure your client timeouts are set above 2 minutes.

Your usage and logs pages track image calls by valuing them at gpt-image-2 list prices ($5 per 1M text input tokens, $8 per 1M image input tokens, and $30 per 1M image output tokens).

Billing and cancelling

  • Stripe acts as the merchant of record and handles checkout, invoices, and tax.
  • You can cancel your plan anytime.
  • Yearly billing brings Pro down to $99 a year (about $8.25 a month, or 31% less than paying $144 across 12 monthly payments) and Scale to $249 a year (about $20.75 a month, or 28% less than $348).
  • You can upgrade your plan in the dashboard at plan2api.com/dashboard/plan, and every tier sends you an email alert if a connected subscription pauses or needs to be reconnected.

Use the AI subscriptions you already pay for as one OpenAI-compatible API key.

  • Free: 1 subscription, 50 requests a day, no card
  • Pro: $12 a month

FAQ

Is Plan2API free?

Yes. The Plan2API free plan costs $0 without needing a credit card, and it gives you 1 connected subscription, 2 API keys, and 50 chat requests a day that reset at 00:00 UTC.

Does Plan2API charge per token?

No. Plan2API charges a flat $0, $12, or $29 a month and never bills you per token, so the usage limits on your own connected AI subscriptions decide how much you can run.

Do I need an AI subscription to use Plan2API?

Yes. Plan2API serves models through the subscriptions you already pay for and connect to your account: Claude Pro or Max, a ChatGPT plan through Codex, Google AI Pro or Ultra through Antigravity, or a Kimi membership through Kimi Code.

What happens when I hit my subscription's limit?

The API returns HTTP 429 with the code subscription_quota_exhausted along with a Retry-After header indicating when the earliest quota resets. If you have more than one account connected for that same provider, the request automatically moves over to the next account before failing.

How much does yearly billing save?

Paying yearly drops Plan2API Pro to $99 a year instead of $144 across 12 monthly payments (saving $45, or 31% less), and brings Plan2API Scale down to $249 a year instead of $348 (saving $99, or 28% less).

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Stripe handles billing as the merchant of record, and you can cancel a Pro or Scale plan whenever you want.
